We will start the day by picking you up at your accommodation or at the airport between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m., using a private vehicle or minibus. During the trip, we will give you a brief introduction to Iquitos and its main attractions.
We will board a speedboat from the port of Nanay and sail for approximately 20 minutes to the community of Padre Cocha. There, we will visit the Butterfly Farm, where you can admire various species of butterflies and learn about their metamorphosis. Afterwards, we will continue downstream to observe the confluence of the Amazon and the Nanay, an impressive visual phenomenon.
Afterwards, we will enjoy a river tour, looking for sightings of freshwater dolphins and other animals of the region. We will also have the opportunity to interact with members of the Yahua tribe, where we will learn about their culture and purchase local handicrafts.
Finally, we will arrive at our rustic lodge, where we will enjoy lunch with local products. In the afternoon, we will make an expedition to Monkey Island, a rescue center that houses various species, where you can play and learn about their rehabilitation. Before returning to Iquitos, we will look for more dolphins and, weather permitting, enjoy a refreshing swim in the Amazon and a breathtaking sunrise.
