Discover the adventurous spirit of Puerto Maldonado with a trek through lush jungle trails to uncover the hidden gem of Lake Sandoval.
We will head to the Tambopata National Reserve, about ten minutes away. Once there, we will cross what is considered the main entrance to the southern Amazon jungle. Are you ready for the hike? We will travel approximately three kilometers of trails. Along the way, we will have the opportunity to observe monkeys and snakes up close.
We will explore the lush Amazonian vegetation and spot macaws and falcons. The trail will take us to the picturesque Sandoval Lake, the most idyllic point of the Tambopata National Reserve.
Then, we will sail in a canoe through Lake Sandoval and from the water we will be able to see unique species such as the river otter and the black caiman. After this walk, we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, which will include chicken, rice, and mushrooms.
Once we are satisfied, we will return to Puerto Maldonado. At 5:30 p.m. we will accompany you back to the hotel, marking the end of our excursion through the jungle and Lake Sandoval.
