Start your day with a pick-up from your hotel in Cusco and head to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, admiring the fields and picturesque villages set against the sacred, snow-capped mountains revered since before the Incas. Visit the town of Chinchero, located 3,780 meters above sea level. Explore the town’s archaeological sites, a 17th-century colonial church with paintings from the Cusco School, and a typical market where the famous exchange of products and purchase of Andean textiles still takes place. Next, visit the circular agricultural terraces of Moray, which served as an ancient agricultural research center. Continue to the Maras Salt Mines, containing more than 4,000 wells, one of the highest salt flats in the world where one of the most valued and beneficial salts in gastronomy is produced. Head to Urubamba for lunch at a typical local restaurant. Taste the typical flavours of the region before continuing to the living Inca city of Ollantaytambo, which is a charming Inca city, admire its splendour and its strategic military, religious and administrative fortress in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. To finish your visit, we will drop you off near the Ollantaytambo train station.
