Welcome to Aurora Wonderland Basecamp. Located in beautiful Lyngen, our base camp is surrounded by breathtaking fjords, mountains, and islands. Escape the ordinary and immerse yourself in the beauty of northern Norway. With a good distance from the city, you'll find minimal artificial light pollution, providing optimal conditions. Step into our crystal Lavvo for a unique adventure, blending traditional experiences with the chance to witness the Northern Lights. Imagine yourself gazing at the night sky through the glass ceiling while cozying up to a fireplace. With clear skies and pristine surroundings, your odds of seeing this natural wonder are truly exceptional.
The adventure starts when we pick you up in the city center of Tromsø. Then, we'll take you on a panoramic drive to Aurora Wonderland Basecamp. This scenic route includes a short ferry ride and stunning views of the Lyngen Alps.
Upon arrival at the base camp, you'll receive an expedition meal. Then, we will gear up with snowmobiling equipment, including suits, boots, and helmets. Our experienced guide will then give you safety instructions and show you how to operate the snowmobile. Enjoy the ride as your guide leads you through the diverse terrain of Lyngen.
In the evening, after a nice dinner, our northern lights guide will give you a summary of the forecast and a mini course in northern light photography; the guide can also help you with camera settings.
After this, your lavvo will be warm, cozy, and ready for you. When you have received your lavvo, you can keep an eye on the night sky from the lavvo's glass ceiling or wander around the base camp to see if the northern lights are dancing above.
The following day, we serve a traditional Norwegian breakfast before we start the drive back to Tromsø. We will arrive at 11 am.

- Meeting Time: 11:30 am (for departure at 11:45 am)
- Look for A van or minibus with the "Aurora Wonderland" sign
- Our driver will take you directly to the base camp.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- You need to be in fair physical shape, be 16 years old, and have a valid car driver's license to operate a snowmobile
- You must show the car driver's license, so remember to bring it!
- Snowmobiles are driven in pairs with one driver and one passenger per snowmobile (even if you book as one person). You will have plenty of opportunities to switch places during the adventure
- All participants must follow the rules discussed in the safety briefing. Participants that endanger themselves or others in any way, will be excluded from the tour without the possibility of a refund
- The snowmobiles are insured with a liability of up to 980 EUR. That means the driver will have to pay up to 980 EUR on the spot to cover damages caused by the driver. Following the rules set by the tour guides will greatly reduce the risk of damage

When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
