Experience the spectacular Lyngen Alps while driving a snowmobile in beautiful scenery at Camp Troll, where everything is inspired by trolls.
Based in Lyngen near Tromsø, visit Camp Troll and experience a day of exploration, excitement, and fun on a snowmobile safari. You can drive a snowmobile beneath giant mountains and learn how these spectacular summits inspired Norwegian Folklore.
Depart from Tromsø city center by bus which will take you to Breivikeidet where you’ll board the ferry as a foot passenger (included). Meet a representative on the other side at Svensby for further transport.
On arrival at base camp, meet your guide and listen as they detail practical instructions on how to handle a snowmobile. Watch a safety demonstration and then get changed before heading out.
Drive your snowmobile in pairs (one driver and one passenger) and get the opportunity to switch drivers at the halfway point. Travel deep into nature whilst exploring the mythical world of trolls on a scenic trail through the Lyngen Alps.
Enjoy time in the beautiful scenery and take pictures, keeping an eye out for the magical trolls you’ll be learning about. Later, head back to the base camp to enjoy a hot meal served around the fire before you depart.
With a full stomach, return to the ferry after your tour, where you will return to Tromsø.
Please note: Snowmobiles are shared (even if you make a booking as 1 guest).
There are two options for this tour, one with and one without transfers, make sure you select the correct one when making your booking.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
You must bring your driving licence with you if you will be driving the snowmobile. You cannot drive the snowmobiles without us seeing it
Child participants must be able to hold onto the snowmobile unassisted
If guests appear to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the local partner reserves the right to refuse access to the tour. No refunds will be given in this instance
You will be driving in pairs, (one driver and one passenger) on each snowmobile. You will get the opportunity to switch drivers throughout the tour
The Arctic Route Bus, marked Lyngen 917, departs from the Prostneset Bus, Boat & Hurtigruten Terminal, Samuel Arnesens Gate 5, 9008 Tromsø.
Please locate the bus as it can be very busy.
8.45am departure - The bus will leave promptly at 8.45 AM so we strongly recommended that you are at the pickup point at least 15 minutes before as the bus will not wait.
The bus will take you to Breivikeidet, where you will board the 10.05 ferry as a foot passenger (included).
Our Camp Troll Guides (wearing a yellow vest with our logo on) will meet you on the other side at Svensby. You will then be taken to Camp Troll by mini bus. It can be very busy so please make sure you locate the right group as we cannot be held responsible if you go with the wrong one. Please note if you miss the bus you will have to get to the ferry location at your own expense.
We will return you to the ferry at Svensby following the tour where you will board the ferry, and then get the Arctic Route bus back to Tromso.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
