Step back in time with a 1.5 hour sail aboard Bergen’s most traditional tour boat. The square sailed vessel represents Viking ship-building and design that has been passed down through the ages in Norway. Aboard you will admire the elegant construction of the overlapping wooden planks and smell the aromas of ancient wood preservation methods. Feel the exhilaration of the ship’s square sail filling with wind and pulling you along Bergen’s iconic and beautiful waterfront. Take part in the sailing or chill out on a bean bag and enjoy the ride! Do you like fishing? We'll give you a rod and more often than not we catch mackerel during tour!
Tours are varied and educational in nature. We will begin our voyage from Bryggen in central Bergen and hoist sail as soon as possible. The route will be dictated by wind conditions, but regardless of the weather, guests are guaranteed an authentic and interactive sailing experience and the chance to absorb Bergen’s historic waterfront from a truly unique perspective. The tour includes fascinating insights into the Viking age, Norwegian history, and coast culture. Steer the ship, hoist the sail, and feel the serenity of gliding through the water in this centuries-old method of sailing. No rowing required!

Participants may need to use a short ladder to board the vessel
Boarding and moving about the vessel require a moderate amount of mobility
Please arrive at DREGGEKAIEN 10 minutes prior to departure time
The ship may not be at the meeting point when you arrive
There is a toilet facility onboard, but the space does not have standing headroom and some may find its use uncomfortable
Participants are encouraged to utilize the public facilities located directly on the departure quay
Please dress appropriately for sailing
There is limited shelter from rain and wind onboard and keep in mind temperatures are generally cooler on the water
Please wait at Dreggekaien. If the boat is not there, don't panic. It will be arriving any moment.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
