Leave your cruise ship and discover the Remutaka Ranges' rich rail history & natural beauty on an eBike (electric bike). The flagship daytrip of the Remutaka Cycle Trail, this shore excursion is suitable for riders of all levels. 18-28km of easy/moderate riding.
We meet you at port at the time of your choosing, and shuttle you up to our base at Wildfinder Kaitoke. We'll set you up on your eBikes and give you a briefing, then you'll start your adventure with a very gradual incline through native bush. Pass through tunnels (headlights provided!) and over bridges, while checking out information boards detailing the enormous task of constructing the old fell railway system. Reach the summit - a large grassy plateau perfect for a picnic or cold drink - then enjoy a fun (but easily controllable!) descent to Cross Creek in the Wairarapa, surrounded by some of NZ's most scenic farmland. Meet the shuttle at Cross Creek, or continue biking 10km north to Featherston and The Fell Locomotive Museum, and we'll pick you up along the way before driving you back to your ship.

Capable and comfortable eBike (electric bike) with helmet and repair kit, customised to your height and riding preferences. Choose from either step-thru or mountain bike style frame.

We'll pick you up from the port itself - please don't board any busses which are going into the town. Please look out for one of our friendly staff members in 'Wildfinder' apparel holding a 'Wildfinder' clipboard.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
Cancellation is not possible. If you cancel it anyway or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity and the money you paid will not be refunded.
