This is an ideal trek best called as a classic walk right into the heart of the mountains and your gentle walk starts from lowland to the outstanding high mountains with a breathtaking view of the Annapurna range. The walk ends at a point where you are virtually surrounded by soaring Himalayan peaks. Once this trek was a real expedition into an uninhabited wilderness area!
The trek involves several ascents and descents but they are not so hard to attempt as there are several alternative routes to the sanctuary, all meeting at Chhomorong.
This trek provides an excellent opportunity to experience the fascinating glimpse of rich culture, typical Nepalese lifestyle and ultimate thrill of trekking in the Himalayas at the high elevation.
Itinerary
Day 01: Your arrival to Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA), you will be met by your airport representative, and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at hotel (inclusive of breakfast).
Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Nayapul (trek starting place) via Pokhara by private car/van, then begin trek to Tikhedhunga.
After having early morning breakfast at your hotel in Kathmandu, drive to Nayapul (the trek starting place) via Pokhara, 6 hours scenic drive from Kathmandu. After reaching Nayapul, your trek starts! After a 15 minute short walk along the bank of the Modi Khola, reach Birethanti (1065 meters, about 3494 feet) a large village that has many shops and tea houses. From there, the trail continues through the village. The trail follows the north bank of the Bhurungdi Khola.
From there, the trail climbs steadily up the side of the valley to Hille at 1495 meters (about 4904 feet) and after the short climb, reach Tikhedhunga at 1525 meters (about 5003 feet). This trek offers a short and relatively easy day, during the journey and allows you to get used to the experience of trekking in Nepal.

Day 03: Trek to Ghorepani
Leaving Tikhedunga, begin your journey with steep climb to Ulleri. Ulleri is a large Magar village at 2070 meters (about 6791 feet). Then the trail continues to ascend more gently, through fine forests of oak and rhododendron towards Banthanti at 2250 meters (about 7381 feet). Then, make your way towards Nangethanti at 2460 meters (about 8070 feet). After a 1 hour gentle walk from Nangethanti, reach Ghorepani at 2775 meters (about 9104 feet).

Day 04: Hiking to Poonhill - back to Ghorepani, and trek to Tadapani.
This morning, get up early in the morning, and go hiking to Poon Hill. From here, see a superb view of the sunrise, and panoramic view of Himalayas, including Mount Dhaulagiri, Mount Annapurna South, Mount Annapurna I, Mount Fishtail, and many more. After an excursion to Poon Hill, go back to your hotel; take a hot breakfast, and continue walking to Tadapani.

Day 05: Trek to Chhomorung
The day starts with a steep downhill walk. Leaving Tadapani, descend steeply through forests and then the trail eases as you reach Gurjung which is the village of Gurung people. Then take an easy walk to Chhomorung (2020 meters, about 6627 feet).

Day 06: Trek to Dovan
Today the trail drops down to the Chhomorung Khola and again you continue climbing to Khudighar at 2380 meters (about 7808 feet) where there is an ACAP check post, and continuous walking to Dovan.

Day 07: Trek to Deurali
The day begins with the climb through bamboo, then rhododendron forests to Dovan, Himalayan Hotel and on to Hinko at 3020 meters (about 9908 feet). The accommodation will be in Deurali, on the ridge above Hinko and is the stretch of trail that is most subject to avalanche.

Day 08: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (Annapurna Sanctuary)
Today the trail climbs on past the Machhapuchhare Base Camp (which isn’t really a base camp since climbing the mountain is not permitted) to the Annapurna Base Camp.
Since it is totally surrounded by mountains, this area is known as the Annapurna Sanctuary.
You can either end the day at Machhapuchhare Base Camp or trek two hours on to Annapurna Base Camp. There, view the mountain scenery which is even more spectacular.

Day 09: Explore the hidden valley in the morning and track back to Dovan. Overnight at guest house (accommodation and meals included).
Day 10: Trek to Jhinu Danda (hot spring). Enjoy the evening at the hot spring.

Day 11: Trek to Birethanti and drive to Pokhara
Take a 4 -5 hours easy walk downhill following the Modi river to Birethanti where the road links to Pokhara; then a 1 hour car drive to Pokhara, the lake city. Overnight at hotel (accommodation and meals included).
Day 12: Drive back to Kathmandu by car. Overnight at hotel Kathmandu suite home (breakfast included).
Day 13: Transfer to airport for your onward journey. Farewell!
