Duration: 17 days

Description

Experience spectacular views of high mountains and picturesque lowland farming landscapes, and cultural encounters with ethnic minority groups. This 17-day classic Annapurna circuit trek takes you into the most popular area of Nepal.
The Annapurna conservation area is considered to be one of the best trekking areas in the world. It is also the most visited trekking area in Nepal, and the site of your 17-day guided program.

The area covers 4 districts of central Nepal, with elevations beginning at 790 meters and rising to the highest at 8,091 meters (Annapurna) and 8,163 meters (Dhaulagiri). The 2 main trails follow river valleys in relatively easy ascents, up the Kali Gandaki to Jomsom and Muktinath, and up the Marsyangdi to Manang.

These trails can be joined by crossing a high pass, the Thorong La, and when combined they form the classic Annapurna Circuit.

As the land climbs, mud-walled huts are replaced by flat-roofed stone houses, and the predominant occupation changes from farming to herding, while the principal religion of the people changes from Hinduism to Buddhism.

The Annapurna region dramatically reveals the cultural and geographic frontier running across Nepal. Mountain views are frequent and spectacular, and the various trekking routes offer different experiences.

The diverse terrain and variety of cultures in the region north of Pokhara make each day’s walk a different experience. Alpine meadows, moraines, glaciers, and breathtaking views of the Annapurna range abound.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The classical Annapurna circuit trek is the most scenic trek in Nepal. It provides a combination of spectacular high mountain scenery views, picturesque lowland farms, village farms, and a wealth of culture. An interest and challenging pass (Thorung La) crossing the Annapurna circuit trek is justifiably popular, best approached in a counter-clockwise direction, which allows for a more gradual climb of the 5,416 meters, taking in the most magnificent views of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Lamjung, and Tibetan Himalaya ranges. It also takes you from dense forests to the sparse Tibetan plateau, passing through ethnic villages of Gurungs, Tamangs, Magars Thakalis, Manangies, Brahmins, and Chhetris.
We will pick you up from the airport or your hotel in the Kathmandu Valley.
