The Annapurna Circuit is a classic trek that takes you around the Annapurna Massif, providing stunning views of some of the world's highest peaks, including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu. The trek typically starts in the lowland villages with lush terraced fields and rhododendron forests and gradually ascends to higher altitudes, passing through alpine meadows and barren landscapes. The circuit crosses the Thorong La Pass, which is one of the highest trekking passes globally, at an elevation of 5,416 meters (17,769 feet). Along the way, trekkers experience the rich cultural diversity of the region, encountering Gurung, Thakali, and Manangi villages.
Tilicho Lake is one of the highest lakes in the world, situated at an elevation of 4,919 meters (16,138 feet). The trek to Tilicho Lake is often combined with the Annapurna Circuit, offering a side trip to this stunning glacial lake. The trail to Tilicho Lake takes you through rugged landscapes, rocky terrain, and high mountain deserts. The lake itself is surrounded by snow-capped peaks, creating a mesmerizing and serene setting.
