The Tsum Valley trek is a less crowded and less traveled trekking route in Nepal due to its remote location less facility accessibility. However, Tsum Valley Trek is a beautiful location among some of the restricted regions. The Tsum Valley journey starts from the beautiful drive towards Maccha Khola from Kathmandu, and the trek starts from trekking towards Jagat from Maccha Khola.

The trek is considered to be a moderate level of challenge as the highest point on the trek you’ll reach is at 3700m. The Tsum Valley trek provides a stunning view of the attractive mountains including Ganesh I, Ganesh II, Voke Peak, and Ganesh IV from the Gumba Lungdang located at an elevation of 3200m which leads towards Ganesh Himal Base Camp. Other mountains you’ll get insights into during the Tsum Valley trek are Bousha Himal and Himal Chuli.

In the Tsum Valley trek, you’ll get to know about the religious beliefs of the people living there as there are lots of monasteries located in the Tsum Valley. Some of the well-known monasteries located in the Tsum Valley include Rachenn Monastery, Mu Gompa, Gumba Lungdang, and Milarepaa Piren Phu which you’ll observe and take part in the activities done by people doing there. As the Tsum Valley trek is referred to as a moderately challenging trek you’ll not feel much Altitude-related sickness. The trek is suitable for all levels of fitness people but it is better to get involved in some physical fitness-related programs before starting your trek. During the Tsum Valley trek, you’ll pass through different amazing landscapes and dense forests. Tsum Valley is home to different unique animals where you can get insights into the red pandas, Himalayan thar, and snow leopard.

You’ll stay in a basic tea house that is run by the people living there, although the tea house is basic you’ll get an amazing experience there with a comfortable place to sleep and natural local foods. Due to the location of the restricted region, you need to get a Restricted region permit to start the trek without the restricted region permit you can’t get to the Tsum Valley and other permits including MCAP, by taking these two permits you can fully enjoy the trek without any problem. Due to its remote location, you may not get the medical facility when needed in the region so it is advisable to carry a first aid box with you during the trek. The Tsum Valley is combined with the Manaslu region so you can also add Manaslu trekking to your itinerary if you have enough time.
