Description
This safari tour promises an immersive experience in the heart of Nepal's wilderness, where you'll traverse through lush landscapes and dense forests in search of the majestic Bengal tiger.
Originally known as Royal Bardia National Park, Bardiya National Park is a protected area in Nepal that was created in 1988. It is the largest and most pristine wilderness region in Nepal's Terai, along the eastern bank of the Karnali River in the Bardiya District, with a size of 968 km2 (374 sq mi).
The peak of the Siwalik Hills marks the protected area's northern boundary. The protected region is severely disrupted by the Nepalgunj-Surkhet highway, which forms part of the southern boundary. The Babai River forms the natural limits of the southeast while the Geruwa, a tributary of the Karnali River, is the western boundary of human habitation.
The cohesive protected area of 1,437 km2 (555 sq mi) encompasses the Tiger Conservation Unit .Bardia-Banke, which spans 2,231 km2 (861 sq mi) of alluvial grasslands and subtropical wet deciduous forests, together with the nearby Banke National Park.
