Kathmandu Valley is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and it contains seven monuments and historic sites that have been recognized by UNESCO. These monument zones are the Durbar squares or urban centers with their palaces, temples, and public spaces of the three cities of Kathmandu (Hanuman Dhoka), Patan, and Bhaktapur, and the religious temples of Swayambhu, Bauddhanath, Pashupati, and Changu Narayan.
The durbar squares signifies the historical background of Nepal as well as the art and culture of Nepal. Around the palaces, you will get to meet and see one of the dominant ethnic group of Nepal i.e. Newar community. The community represent the culture, tradition and customs among many other different ethnic groups. Also, observe the unique architectural designs of the palace and authentic art and craft done on the windows, doors, pillars, and balcony. The windows, doors are made of woods and the designs are handcrafted. And to look at the spiritual side of Nepal, religiously important places like Swoyambhunath, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath is a must-see places. The shrines, monuments, statues seen at these places have their own particular meaning.
Outline Itinerary:
Our guide and driver will pick you up from your pick up point at about 8:00 am and your guided sightseeing tour starts from Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swoyambhunath following with Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Changunarayan Temple. You will have a lunch break at Bouddha and you will be escorted to your hotel in the late afternoon.
