Pokhara: 4 Day Poon Hill Trek with 3 Day National Park Tour

A 4-day Poon Hill trek offers stunning sunrise views over the Himalayas, followed by a 3-day Chitwan National Park tour with wildlife safaris and cultural experiences.
Day 1: In the morning your guide picks up you with your name card from your hotel and drive from Pokhara (1.5 hours) to Nayapul. Begin trekking through charming villages like Birethanti, following the Modi Khola river. Pass terraced farmlands and lush forests. A steep ascent from Tikhedhunga to Ulleri, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the Annapurna South and Hiunchuli mountains.

Day 2: Trek through rhododendron and oak forests with mountain vistas. Pass waterfalls and scenic landscapes as you ascend. Reach the quaint village of Ghorepani, known for its proximity to Poon Hill. Relax in Ghorepani while soaking in stunning views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges.

Day 3: Early morning hike to Poon Hill for an unforgettable sunrise over the Himalayas. Enjoy panoramic views of peaks like Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machapuchare. Return to Ghorepani for breakfast, then trek to Tadapani through scenic forests. Explore diverse flora and fauna along the route.

Day 4: Trek downhill to the traditional Gurung village of Ghandruk. Explore the cultural richness of Ghandruk and visit the local museum. Descend further to Kimche, where a vehicle will pick you up for the drive back to Pokhara.

Day 5: Scenic drive through lush landscapes and along the Trisuli River. Arrive at your jungle lodge in Chitwan National Park.
Welcome drink and briefing about your upcoming jungle activities. Explore the nearby Tharu village for a cultural experience. Evening: Enjoy a traditional Tharu cultural dance performance.

Day 6: Early morning canoe ride on the Rapti River to spot birds, crocodiles, and other wildlife. Jungle walks in Chitwan National Park with a guide, searching for tigers, rhinos, and various bird species. Jeep safari in the dense jungle, providing opportunities to encounter Bengal tigers, leopards, and more.

Day 7: Early morning bird-watching tour to see some of the 500 species of birds in Chitwan. Breakfast at the lodge, then drive back to Pokhara or Kathmandu.
