Duration:
7 days
Description
Take the shortest trail available to reach the Himalayas closely. The trail is famous for its beautiful views and fantastic nature and culture, with this less-requented and less-crowded trail providing an immensely peaceful experience.
Mardi Himal Trek is an ideal trek for travelers who want to spend time in nature and in the Annapurna region of Nepal. This trek follows the less traveled routes in the Annapurna region, which offer a sense of wild remoteness. The beautiful views of valleys, gorges, landscapes, and stunning views of Mt. Mardi (5,553 meters), along with Mt. Annapurna (8,091 meters), Mt. Machhapuchhre (6,997 meters), and Mt. Putha Hiunchuli (7246 meters) make this trek memorable.
The deep dense forests and the high alpine plains along with the stunning Annapurna Range offer extraordinary opportunities for exploration on this trek. You'll proceed from Pokhara, which along with bubbling streams and grassy campsites create a peaceful surrounding. The forest trails of Kokar unveil oak and rhododendrons along with the views of snowy ridges and mountains. Lower down, the trail meanders through terraced fields of agrarian life.
From the low camp (3,050 meters) the trail includes moss-covered trees and feels completely primordial, while the high camp (3,600 meters) has tremendous views of Annapurna South and Mt. Hiunchuli (7,246 meters). On the way, the trail passes through lovely Gurung Villages which are full of warm and welcoming people and offer the chance to experience the lifestyle, traditions, and cultures of the Gurung. The trail is short but difficult until you reach Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,120 meters), from where you will proceed to Mardi Himal West (4,500 meters). The spectacular views of Mardi Himal and the Annapurna range from up close are simply astounding.
