Poon Hill trekking is a lower altitude trekking in the Annapurna region of Nepal with a short itinerary. The timely limited trekkers can enjoy this trek with the incredible Himalayan attraction, ethnic cultural prosperity and the enchanting rhododendron forest along the Poon hill trail. The gratifying viewpoint Poon Hill (3210m) that marks the destination of the trek, is renowned for the excellent sceneries of the surroundings.

The trek to Poon Hill begins from Nayapul, which is a gateway of the Annapurna treks. The beginning trail is soft that passes some of the Gurung villages. With the steep ascend of Ulleri, the rhododendron-dominated trail begins. The waterfalls, peaceful trail and beautiful countryside persuade you to explore the sceneries. Poon Hill offers the miraculous sights of Mt. Annapurna I (8091m), II, III, IV, Dhaulagiri (8167m), Fishtail, Nilgiri, Himchuli and the surrounding peaks and the golden sunrise over these peaks. For this, the trip is also trendy as the Annapurna Sunrise Trek. The village, located just down on Poon Hill, is a Magar community located between the rhododendron forest. The ethnic Gurung village of Ghanruk is a cultural village that wonderfully preserves the traditional pattern of cultural lifestyles. The 5 days Poon Hill Trekking concludes in Nayapul with the exploration of the exquisiteness of the Annapurna conservation area.


Itinerary:
Day 1: Drive to Pokhara by tourist bus (6 hours).
Day 2: Drive to Nayapul and then trek to Tikhedhunga (1,577m).
Day 3: Trek to Ghorepani (2,750m).
Day 4: Hike Poon Hill (3,210m) and then trek to Tadapani (2,630m).
Day 5: Trek to Ghandruk (1,940m).
Day 6: Trek to Birethanti (1,025m) and then drive back to Pokhara.
Day 7: Drive back to Kathmandu.
