Day 1:
Marrakech – Ait ben haddou – Dades Gorges
Driving Time: 5 hours 40 minutes
On day one of your excursion from Marrakech, you will make your way towards Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou located in the High Atlas Mountains. This historical kasbah was declared a Unesco World Heritage Site in 1987 and is both architecturally impressive and culturally significant. After lunch near the kasbah and discovering the Berber villages located throughout Dades Valley, you will continue your journey to Dades Gorges for dinner before spending the night here.
Day 2:
Boumalne Dadès – Todra Gorges - Erfoud – Dunes of Merzouga
Driving Time: 4 hours 45 minutes
On day two, join us as we journey to the vibrant dunes of Merzouga! We'll explore palm groves in Tinghir and Tinjedad before venturing into the captivating depths of Todra Gorge. Get a taste for adventure with lunch by the riverbank, then travel on to Erfoud -- known far and wide for its astonishing fossils. Finally it's time to immerse yourself completely in nature – saddle up your camel at sunset and get ready for an unforgettable evening amongst vast undulating golden sand waves inside one of Morocco’s most spectacular deserts. Wrap up this magical night under star-filled skies camping out beneath luxurious tents!
Day 3:
Merzouga Excursion to visit the Nomads of the Sahara Desert
On day 3, you can experience a breathtaking sunrise atop the towering Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy an unforgettable camel ride to reach the village of Merzouga before exploring its awe-inspiring desert landscapes in 4x4s! Take time to visit with local nomadic folk and their herd of goats and camels; marvel at how they survive despite hard weather conditions while herding across both desert sand & mountains alike! Afterwards, sip some tea as you relish in traditional Berber cuisine accompanied by Gnaoua music. End your journey with dinner and a campfire with Berber music under starry skies.
Day 4:
Merzouga - Rissani - Nkob - Tamnougalt - Ouarzazate - Marrakech
Driving Time: 8 hours 30 minutes
On day four, you'll say goodbye to the Sahara after breakfast and hop on a camel as you embark towards Merzouga. As you traverse through desert landscapes dotted with acacia trees, you'll stop to have lunch at the Berber village of Nkob! You'll keep going through Agdz and on to take in some serious mountain sights over crossing The Great Atlas. By nightfall you will have made it back to Marrakech.
For Shared Excursions: You can join a group tour in Ait Ben Haddou on your own for around €2 per person.
