Description
This is definitely for you if you want a deep & non-conventional conversation about Mexico´s art. We will review pre-Hispanic myths, the fall of the National Revolution & contemporary expressions.
We will meet at the gate of Casa Mural Diego Rivera, one of the most famous museums in CDMX due to the painting "Sueño de una tarde dominical en la Alameda Central". We will talk about the Mexican Revolution, the Spanish conquest, Modern politics, and much more.
After we will go to Palacio Bellas Artes, a beautiful neo-classic building in the heart of Mexico City. Just before getting inside, we will review the architecture from this and other constructions around Alameda Park (including a monument of Benito Juarez).
Inside the museum, we will talk about Diego Rivera, Orozco, and Siqueiros murals, known as "Los tres grandes del muralismo". This is ideal for reviewing Mexican history, myths, fears, and national desires (constructed between 19-20th centuries).
Finally, we will explore San Ildelfonso Museum, where most of the first murals where painted. This stop will give us more inside of the dinamcs of this art movement.
