Understand and enjoy Mexican cuisine more than ever with this market tour and cooking class!
On your one-hour tour of Roma's Mercado Medellín, you'll learn how ancient Mesoamerican ingredients and techniques shape the Mexican dishes we know today, and why the Spanish conquest of the country in the 16th century lead to an explosion of culinary creativity on both sides of the Atlantic.
Then, back at the beautiful Condesa home of your chef/guide, you'll prepare your favourite foods from fresh ingredients and with expert guidance. Prepare to get your hands dirty, as over around three hours, you'll be making tamales, mole, salsas and tortillas from scratch! Dietary requirements will be accommodated, and Mexican beer and soft drinks will keep you hydrated.
Finally, you'll enjoy the delicious fruits of your labour at a picture-perfect table laid with local linens and artisanal tableware. Reflect on the day's experience over dessert and finish with a cup of Mexican wine and/ or mezcal.

Wheelchair users are welcome, but the building in which the class will take place does not have an elevator.
Please advise of any dietary requirements in advance. Most of these can be accommodated, although unfortunately Kosher is not possible at this time.
We'll meet at the entrance to the market that's on the corner of Medellín and Campeche streets. You'll see the market's name in big letters and can wait in the shade under the large overhang.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
Cancellation is not possible. If you cancel it anyway or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity and the money you paid will not be refunded.
