Embark on a thrilling 2-day expedition from San Cristóbal de las Casas to the Arc of Time, rappelling down canyon walls and camping on 'Playa del Tiempo' beach.
Day 1: Departing from San Cristóbal de las Casas at 6:00 am, you'll travel to the General Lázaro Cárdenas community near the Grand Canyon of La Venta. Enjoy breakfast in the community before beginning your journey through the Ocote Biosphere Reserve. At 10:00 am, start your expedition to the Arc of Time, a 3-hour hike with porters and mules transporting equipment. Arrive around 1:00 pm at the majestic Arch of Time, where you'll camp on 'Playa del Tiempo' beach and rappel down a 25-meter wall. Spend the night by a bonfire inside the canyon.
Day 2: After breakfast, pack up and prepare to ascend. Using harnesses, carabiners, and ropes, climb out individually with team support. Begin your return hike through El Ocote Biosphere Reserve, similar to the rugged path of Day 1. After 3 hours, reach the General Lázaro Cárdenas community for a meal before returning to San Cristóbal de las Casas by 5:00 pm.
