Discover 2 of the most beautiful islands of the Yucatan Peninsula on a speedboat tour to Isla Contoy and Isla Mujeres. Look for nesting birds in the protected reserve of Isla Contoy National Park. Explore the streets and local stores of Isla Mujeres.
Start your tour at the pier of Punta Sam in Cancún, where you will board a comfortable speedboat to Isla Contoy about 40 minutes off the coast. Stop at a reef just south of the island for an optional 40-minute snorkeling session at the tip of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second largest coral reef barrier system in the world.
Continue to Isla Contoy taking in the breathtaking views along the way. Then, disembark at the pier next to one of the island's beaches with a natural pool of crystal-clear water. Take a 30-minute guided walk around the island and make an optional stop at the museum. Discover an internal lagoon where many bird species nest, a set of trails that lead to the other side of the island, and a tower where you can get a magnificent view of the entire island.
Next, enjoy a delicious lunch of Tikin Xic fish (a traditional Yucatan recipe), grilled chicken, guacamole, salad, bread and seasonal fruits. Water and sodas are available on the speedboats at all times, as is beer after your snorkeling session. Relax on the beaches for 90 minutes after lunch, and swim in the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea or play with the friendly manta rays.
Return to Punta Sam to cross to Isla Mujeres. Discover a paradise island full of history. Stroll around the small streets and pop into the local shops for about 1 hour. Then, take the boat back to Punta Sam in Cancún at around 16:00.
