This tour will take you to Kuala Selangor in the quiet hamlet of Kampung Kuantan, where one of the largest firefly colonies in the world exists. When you arrive, you'll visit Kota Melawati, formerly known as Fort Altingsburg, with its old execution block, royal mausoleum and colonial buildings.
You'll experience the highlight of the tour at Kampung Kuantan. As a small, non-motorized boat (tong kang) carries you upstream in the peaceful night, you'll notice an array of blinking trees. At first, this sparkly display looks like an endless row of Christmas trees, but the synchronized, rhythmic flashing is actually produced by thousands of fireflies. Your skilled local oarsmen will make this experience a memorable and unforgettable one.
