Discover the humorous side of Riga on a guided tour that takes you to the native homes of two of the greatest comics of the 20th century, Arcady Raikin and Heinz Erhardt. Follow the paths of these two comics and learn about the history and humor of the German and Jewish communities in Riga.
Meet your guide at the Freedom Monument and learn about the history of Riga and see the sites connected with Heinz Erhardt’s life in the town. Continue to the main Latvian University building and to Verman Park, the oldest park in Riga. Near the monument to chess world champion Mikhail Thal, hear a dozen of the most funny Jewish anecdotes.
We will visit the Museum "Jews in Latvia"where guide will explain the history of Riga`s Jewish community.
From Verman Park, head to Berga Bazar and then to Marijas Street, the well-known home of Jewish clothing and shoe shops before World War II. Your goal is the native house of actor Arcady Raikin, a legend of Russian satiric and humoristic films and theater screenplays.
Then, turn to the so-called Moscow suburb, the historic Jewish quarter of the town. See the memorial to the Choral Synagogue and walk on Dzirnavu and former Moscow streets, where the large Raikin family resided prior to 1915. Finish at Riga's Central Market, one of the greatest food markets in Europe.

We met at Freedom monument (Brivibas piemineklis) in Riga, near the inscription at the monument. The guide is of small heigth in glasses and hat.
