At 8am, our Guide will wait for us at the meeting point to start our walking tour. First we will enjoy a visit full of the colors and marvels of Wat Xieng Thong, considered by many visitors the most beautiful temple of Theravada Buddhism in Laos. With its roofs sweeping low to the ground, representing classical Luang Prabang architectural style, Wat Xieng Thong attracts almost every visitor that ever stops at Luang Prabang. From here, walk down to the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the temples of Wat Aham nearby. Go on to the center to drop by a local market before our lunch at a local restaurant with tasty and spicy Laotian dishes.
Afternoon we will climb up Mount Phousi to the top for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupas as well as getting a panoramic view of the city and the Mekong tributaries. From Mount Phousi, walk down to visit the Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of precious artifacts and antiques. After 4 o'clock, we can explore the Night Market, where we can find a lovely selection of handmade textiles made by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang.
Our guide will lead us back to the hotel (if located nearby the market) or stop at the meeting point at Wat Xieng Thong after the tour.
