Embark on a 5-day tour of Laos and Thailand. Explore the city of Luang Prabang, visit the Royal Palace Museum, and take a boat ride to Pakbeng. Discover the Living Land Rice Farm, Kuang Si Waterfall, and the Pak Ou Caves.
On the first day, arrive at Luang Prabang airport and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure and have dinner at your hotel.
On the second day, start your city tour at the Royal Palace Museum. See the city’s oldest temples, the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roof sweeping low to the ground, representing classical Lao architecture. Transfer to visit and Xangkhoung Textiles village and the Arts and Ethnology Centre to learn about Laos’ ethnic cultures and its diversity.
On the third day, participate in the daily morning alms giving ritual to saffron-clad monks. Visit the Phosi Market, the stupa of Wat Visoun, and the shrine of Wat Aham. Continue to climb the 328 steps to the top of Mount Phousi to enjoy a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding countryside.
On the fourth day, visit the Living Land Rice Farm and take part in some exciting activities. Visit some local handicraft workshops such as bamboo weaving, blacksmith, and sugarcane processing. Continue to Kuang Si Waterfall, stopping to visit some ethnic minority villages.
On the fifth day, take a private boat upstream to Pakbeng. Stop to visit Ban Xang Hai where they make Lao whisky. Enjoy a continental breakfast while cruising to Pak Ou Village, at the mouth of the Nam Ou River, where you will visit Tam Thing Caves of a Thousand Buddha.
On the sixth day, transfer to Pakbeng Pier and board the second leg of the cruise upstream the Mekong River. En route, stop to observe rural life along the Mekong and minorities such as the Khmu ethnic minority village. Have lunch on board and continue to Houeixay.
