Welcome to our small group walking tour of Zagreb, Croatia's capital brimming with history and culture. Throughout our exploration, we'll share stories, anecdotes, and insider tips to help you experience Zagreb like a local, leaving you with memories to cherish long after the tour is over. Get ready to uncover Zagreb's hidden gems and vibrant atmosphere as we explore its past and present together.

We’ll start our tour in Zrinjevac park (Nikola Šubić Zrinski square). Your local guide will wait for you next to the meteorological post. You’ll get a short introduction into what to expect and a few fun facts about this location. Next, we’ll stop at the bronze model of the city of Zagreb to get a clearer picture of the landscape.
Our next stop will be the beautiful Cathedral where you will hear the story about the founding of Zagreb and the “church hill” Kaptol. We’ll soak up the colorful and vibrant atmosphere of the iconic farmers market, Dolac.
We'll visit the city’s most vibrant street, Tkalčićeva street, where you’ll hear what the locals do for fun and also a few interesting local legends. After that, it’s time to pass the The Bloody Bridge Street and hear a story about how such a lovely street got such a bloody name.
Later, we’ll climb up the Gradec hill and pass through the medieval Stone Gate and hear a story about a miracle. We’ll also see Zagreb’s first pharmacy. After that we’ll visit the heart of the medieval Gradec hill, today a home to the colorful roof of St. Mark’s Church, and the Parliament and Government buildings. We’ll walk down Ćirilometodska street and hear stories about alphabet, theater, witches, art, marriage… Our next stop will be at the beautiful St. Catherine’s Church, known for its Baroque stucco decorations and painted ceiling. We’ll arrive to Lotrščak Tower, a part of the original defensive walls from the 13th century with an interesting origin story. We’ll be there right on time to see and hear a cannon fire at noon! Don’t be scared, it happens every day.
After that it’s time to enjoy the shortest funicular ride in the world. We will end our tour at Zagreb’s main square (Ban Jelačić Square), the heart of modern-day Zagreb. Your guide will be happy to give you some recommendations for the rest of your time in Zagreb.
