Description

Chingaza / Casarriales Trail Colombia is the country with the largest extension of moorland ecosystems, Turismo en Conexion takes you to know some of the most striking sederos in this territory.
The Chingaza Paramo has not only supplied water for the city of Bogota, in the 90's the Palacio Mine was closed, which for decades was exploited by the first cement factory in Colombia due to the effects on this ecosystem. The trekker can enjoy attractive views of mountains sculpted by the glacial ice of the ice age, the great challenge of walking through sometimes muddy terrain has its reward to go through part of that limestone mine where the Pachamama Lagoon is the testimony that Mother Nature is healing, enjoy the waters of the streams that you will find on your way.

The Casarriales Trail is located in the jurisdiction of the Municipality of Guasca, just 2 hours from Bogota, its entrance is through the entrance of the checkpoint of the National Natural Park Chingaza Piedras Gordas sector, 22 km from La Calera, this trail belongs to and is administered by the Reserve Ecopalacio Chingaza, the road is in good condition, there is no public transport service.

In this outdoor trail you can walk through demarcated sites, so our tour guide will recommend you not to leave the path which is on the same vegetation to not affect the ecosystem, and other areas in preserved conditions, the road could be muddy so we recommend hiking shoes grip type, rubber boots, running shoes are not a good option because they generate falls.

Pets are not allowed in the area because it has been declared a protected natural reserve. This mitigation of impacts is done in order to minimize negative impacts and allow the ecosystems to be less affected so that the animals and plants of the environment are not affected.
