Description
See the forest, plows, and farm machinery at the Karen Blixen Museum in Nairobi. Visit the elephant orphanage at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust before continuing on to the Giraffe Center.
We start by collecting you from your hotel, apartment, house, or place of residence in Nairobi. From there, we travel to the Karen Blixen Museum, which is home to the author and coffee farmer who left Africa in 1914 and lived there until 1931. With a beautiful view of Karen's favorite Ngong Hills and surrounded by a peaceful garden and native forest, the Museum house maintains a tranquil atmosphere that feels like it belongs in the past. "I had a farm in Africa at the foot of the Ngong Hills," she says, paying tribute to the hills. This extensive collection includes outdoor exhibits of farm tools, wagons, ploughs, and original machinery from the coffee processing factory from that era.
The lush, well-kept green gardens provide the ideal backdrop for any outdoor event, including team building exercises, corporate galas, and weddings and receptions. At the Karen's Art Corner, we promote regional and up-and-coming artists in keeping with Karen's love of art. Our skilled, multilingual guides provide guided tours on a continuous basis throughout the day.
Following Blixen, our guide will make the hour-long drive to the David Shedrick Wildlife Trust, which is open from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm every day. After the elephant orphanage, we'll have lunch at a nearby restaurant or a tourist hotel in (your choice)
You then go to the Giraffe Center, which is roughly fifteen minutes away from the orphanage for elephants. Following the Giraffe Center, our guide will drop you off at your hotel or another location in Nairobi after the Giraffe Center.
