Description

Discover Amanohashidate’s stunning sandbar with panoramic views and explore Ine’s charming boat houses. Enjoy scenic walks, bike rides, and boat tours amidst breathtaking landscapes and wildlife.
This journey invites you to experience two of Japan’s most captivating destinations, blending breathtaking natural scenery with rich cultural charm.
Amanohashidate
Amanohashidate, one of Japan’s renowned Three Scenic Views, is a stunning sandbar stretching across Miyazu Bay, lined with approximately 8,000 vibrant pine trees. This “bridge to heaven” creates a spectacular natural pathway between shores. Viewed from the observatory atop Mount Monju, the sandbar appears like a dragon dancing across the sky, a sight that has captivated visitors for centuries. You can walk or cycle along this picturesque sandbar, enjoying the peaceful pine groves and the gentle lapping of waves. To fully appreciate this iconic landscape, take the cable car or chairlift to Mount Monju’s summit for an unforgettable panoramic view.
Ine Boat Houses (Funaya)
Often called the “Venice of Japan,” Ine is famous for its traditional waterfront boat houses, known as funaya. These unique structures, built right along the water, were traditionally designed with boat garages on the first floor and living spaces above, allowing residents to dock directly at home. The blend of these rustic buildings with the surrounding mountains and sea creates an enchanting landscape that feels timeless.
Visitors can take a relaxing boat tour around Ine Bay, feeding seagulls and even eagles that swoop down for treats, creating memorable encounters with local wildlife. Free bicycles are also available to explore the charming village at your own pace, cycling through narrow lanes and discovering the beauty of Ine’s architecture and tranquil waterside life.
