Description
Kappabashi Dougu Street is a wholesale district related to food. It is home to about 170 shops and is also known as Japan's number one tool town. Its beginning was in 1912.
The techniques used to make swords used by samurai in the past have been passed down to today's Japanese knives.
A Japanese knife manufactured by pounding a single piece of steel from a block is called ``honyaki'', imitating the hon-forging technique used for Japanese swords.
Among these, there is a store in Kappabashi that stocks knives that are made using mizu-quenching techniques, which are extremely rare and require particularly advanced techniques.
Please enjoy the exquisite products made by skilled Japanese knife craftsmen.
In addition, since food professionals from all over Japan gather here, we also sell a variety of Japanese tableware, chopsticks, Nambu ironware, and food samples.
Please join us in looking for souvenirs.
