Matcha Tea Bowl Experience in Osaka

Decorate your matcha tea bowl with a traditional Japanese technique and have at home a unique souvenir of your trip to Japan.
In this experience, you will learn how to decorate your matcha tea bowl with the Japanese kurinuki technique.

This technique consists of cutting the clay with different tools to create a unique and totally personal decoration. It is a very appreciated style in Japan, as with this technique you get a piece with a wabi-sabi character. You will also be able to sign your bowl with Japanese letters.

In the workshop, we will also talk about different aspects of the use of the matcha tea bowl in the tea ceremony and other cultural aspects of Japan.

At the end of the activity, you will choose the colour of your bowl, and we will invite you to a drink. This workshop includes a gift made of ceramics.

The workshop will be held in English or Spanish. Anna, the ceramist, has studied ceramics in Osaka and will guide you through the whole process, no previous experience is necessary.
