We will offer the tea gathering experience at the Former Daijo-in Temple Garden which is representative of the subtle and profound traditional Japanese garden as a great opportunity for the refreshment in the morning.
The garden was designed by a Monzeki, the head priest belonged to the imperial family, of Former Daijo-in Temple in Kohfukuji Temple and Zen’ami, a master gardener, who tried to express the subtle and profound as the Japanese cultural idea. We will use the tea utensils as the works of art created by craftsman in Nara where its culture originated.
This is available to both beginners and experienced visitors.
This session also includes the admission to the Former Daijo-in Temple Garden with the guiding tools after the tea gathering.
The garden was designed in 15th century by Zen’ami, a master gardener, and expressed the subtle and profound as the Japanese cultural idea.
We offer the tea gathering experience at the spacious Japanese style room in the beautiful scenery of Japanese garden. Since Nara period (710-794), craftworkers who had restored the Imperial treasures housed in Shosoin in Nara also had created the arts for everyday life like tea bowls and its traditional skills has been passed down for centuries. We hope participants touch and enjoy these kinds of tea utensils created with the great level of traditional skills.

Participants under 15-years-old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
