Start your tour with a pickup from your hotel in Kyoto at 9:30 AM. The first stop will be at Nijō Castle, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Learn about the history of this palace, built by Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu to stay on his visits to the city.
Next, visit the Kinkakuji Temple, also called "the Golden Pavilion" because it is covered in gold leaf. This temple was built by Shogun Ashikaga for his retirement. Admire its beauty and take a walk through the gardens that surround it.
Continue to the Silver Pavilion, located in a spectacular location. Enjoy some free time to eat on your own. Keep in mind that, even if you do not want to have lunch, there will be a mandatory 30-minute break so that the guide can regain strength.
