Enjoy Venice's highlights with this 2-hour walking tour. You'll encounter plenty of the city's architectural highlights, with a tour of an authentic glass factory included.
After being collected from your Venice accommodation, you will begin your tour visiting the political and religious center of the Serenissima Republic of Venice, St. Mark's Square and its monuments. You'll begin with the Doge's Palace, the seat of government of the Republic and the Doge's private residence. Your palace visit includes the halls of government and justice, the private apartments of the Doge, the prisons, and the extremely famous Bridge of Sighs.
You will then continue with the Basilica, where the body of St. Mark the Evangelist lies. You can admire the wonderful golden mosaics which depict stories from the Old and New Testaments, and the famous gold altarpiece decorated with enamels and precious stones.
At the end of the walking tour you will be invited to visit Murano island to get a better insight into Venetian culture. The island is known around the world for its glass production, and you will see the mastery of blowing and shaping the glass whilst at the factory. Finally, you will encounter the highlight of your tour. On a complimentary boat offered by the glass factory, you will travel through some smal and secret channels to reach San Marco’s Square.
