Description

The Pitti Palace was built in the second half of the 15th-century. It is believed to be a project of Filippo Brunelleschi for Luca Pitti but it was unfinished when he died in 1472. In 1550 it was purchased by Eleonora da Toledo, the wife of the Grand Duke Cosimo I de'Medici, as the official residence of the family. In 1560 it was renowned by Bartolomeo Ammannati then at the beginning of the 17th-century by Giulio and Alfonso Parigi. Several changes have been made over the centuries. Now, it houses several museums and is known for the beautiful Boboli Gardens.

With your guide, go inside the Palatine Gallery to admire some masterpieces of famous painters including Caravaggio, Botticelli, Rubens, and Titians. Then, visit the Royal Apartments, where the Medici Family, The Grand Dukes of Tuscany, and the Italian Royal Family lived. After the guided visit you can visit the Boboli Gardens independently.
