Start your diving adventure with the Open Water Diver Course at Manta Dive, Gili Trawangan – the ideal starting point for beginner divers. Discover the amazing marine life of underwater Gili Trawangan while acquiring the skills to dive all over the world up to a depth of 18 meters.
This comprehensive dive course is broken up into three essential parts: engaging digital theory, hands-on pool training, and four open water dives at our beginner-friendly dive sites around the Gili Islands.
Your first day is a blend of learning essential dive theory combined with a hands-on introduction to your diving gear. Guided by our expert instructors, you'll then dive into pool sessions where you'll get comfortable breathing under water and learn to master the essential diving skills and techniques that you'll need as an Open Water Diver.
Days two and three are where the real adventure begins – four open water dives in the sea. Here, you'll apply your pool-learned dive skills in the sea surrounded by the Gili's vibrant marine life. You will enhance general dive skills like your buoyancy control while reveling in the underwater world of corals, turtles, stingrays, moray eels, white tip reef sharks, tons of fish species and much more.
Completing the course earns you the SSI (Scuba Schools International) Open Water Diver certification, a worldwide recognised diving license that allows you to dive up to a depth of 18 meters while accompanied by a dive buddy of a similar or higher certification level.
NB: For ALL diving activities you must be able to successfully perform swimming skills that include a 180 meter swim and a 10 minute survival float without the use of any aids.

- You will be required to fill out an Medical Statement upon arrival, if you have any pre-existing medical conditions please contact us ahead of your booking
- There is also an additional Marine Park Fee of Rp150,000 per person that need to be paid on site.
When you arrive on Gili Trawangan, you will disembark your boat at the main pier. Manta Dive is located 200m walking distance from the pier on your right hand side (as you stand with your back to the ocean). All you need to do is turn right on the main road as you exit the pier and you will see us 200m down that road on your left hand side.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
