The journey will commence with a pick-up from your hotel in Yogyakarta at midnight, with an estimated travel time to the Dieng Plateau of about 3 hours by car.
The ascent towards the sunrise vantage point at the Dieng Plateau's Sikunir Hill takes approximately 20-30 minutes along a footpath leading to the summit.
From the summit of Sikunir Hill to Lake Telaga Warna, you'll traverse through Batu Pandang Hill after witnessing the sunrise over the Dieng Plateau.
Lake Telaga Warna, or the 'Colorful Lake,' contains water that can change colors in a fluctuating manner. At times, it may appear green, purple, yellow, or even resemble a rainbow!
This phenomenon occurs when sunlight touches the water due to its high sulfur content.
From Telaga Warna, your next stop will be Sikidang Crater, an open sulfur crater with boiling mud and billowing steam.
Not far from the crater, you can also visit the Arjuna Temple Complex, which houses eight small Hindu temples built in the seventh century.
