Description
We conduct educational walking tour of Dharavi Slums for 2 hours and then we hop-on Mumbai's famous local train to see Dhobi Ghat the largest open air laundry.
Our tour combines the two off beat places of Mumbai, which we believe are must do for anyone visiting the city. Dharavi is the largest slum in Asia with over 1 million people living there. A visit inside Dharavi tells you the story of an average middle class resident of the city. We conduct this educational tour in community with respect to people's privacy by making sure we have small groups. And we also work with locals. The tours are conducted by guides who are from the community and are able be speak good English. We begin our tour in the working district of where visit factories and see how locals are engaged in different profession. And the other half is spent in residential area where we discuss about everyday life and social issues faced by the community. The tour is a walking tour for 2 hours. After Dharavi we hop on a local train to get Mahalaxmi train station to see the largest open air laundry the Dhobi Ghat
