You will be picked between 09:30 – 10:00 from your hotel to start your sightseeing trip through the amazing city of Mumbai with a local English-speaking guide. The first stop is the Gateway of India, one of the most famous architectural structures in Mumbai and a popular tourist attraction. Its stunning construction portrays both Muslim and Hindu styles of architecture. You will take in the Royal Taj Hotel, which is located opposite the Gateway of India. This place is indeed a treasure trove of invaluable memories of the heritage of Mumbai and of the Taj Towers, which are an amazing architectural structure worth seeing.
Listed next on your trip is the exclusive Prince of Wales Museum,(closed on Monday). Built between 1904 and 1914, this museum was used as a hospital during the First World War. The museum stores an invaluable collection of some of the best art found in India including antiques, miniature paintings, jade, china and many other artifacts.
Then, you will catch a glimpse of the other famous buildings of Mumbai as we drive you past the University of Bombay, High Court of Bombay and Crawford Market. Situated at the crest of the Malabar Hills are the Hanging Gardens, where you can enjoy the much wanted greenery amidst all the concrete and cement structures. As the tour drives through the Malabar Hills, you will catch a glimpse of the posh residential area of Mumba, before being taken to visit the esteemed Gandhi Memorial Museum (Mani Bhavan) and the religious Jain Temple.
Recognized as the world's largest outdoor laundry, the Dhobi Ghat is unique to the city of Mumbai. Watch the washer men or the 'dhobis' provide an efficient service, gathering dirty laundry, cleaning it and returning it perfectly ironed, all at an exceptionally small price. They remove persistent stains by soaking the clothes in a boiling vat of caustic soda. They then dry the clothes on long, brightly colored lines and use heavy wood‐burning irons to neatly press them. The spectacular site this dhobi ghat provides is a photographer's delight, though the locals here find it bewildering that their daily work arouses such interest among visitors. After visiting the Dhobi Ghat, the tour heads towards the drive past Bandra Worli Sea Link.
Later in the day, around 16:00 – 17:00, we will take you to the beautiful Marine Drive, popularly known as the Queen's Necklace. Here, you can sit and relax (for 30 – 60 minutes) and take in breath-taking views of the Arabian Sea. This is one of the favorite places of all Mumbaikars and becomes a favorite of every person who visits the spot due to its captivating aura. After spending a splendid day in this lovely beautiful city of Mumbai, We drop you back to the hotel marking the end of your trip here.
