Embark on an 8-day tour of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, and explore the best of South India. Visit the Chinese Fishing Nets and St. Francis Church at Fort Kochi, see the Jatayu Earth Centre, and witness the sunset at Kanyakumari.
Day 1: Kochi
Upon landing at Cochin (Kochi) International Airport, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. In the evening, enjoy a short meet and greet session.
Day 2: Kochi to Munnar
Start the day with a visit to the Chinese Fishing Nets and St. Francis Church at Fort Kochi. Continue to Muttancherry to visit the Jewish Synagogue, the Dutch Palace, and the lush green hills and tea plantations of Munnar.
Day 3: Munnar
Enjoy a speed boat ride at Mattupetty Dam near Sun Moon Valley, followed by a visit to Echo Point and Eravikulam (Rajamalai) National Park (subject to security permission).
Day 4: Munnar to Periyar
Transfer to Periyar. Upon arrival, enjoy free time for shopping at Kumily Spice Village. Later, visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, home to around 35 species of mammals like tigers, Indian elephants, and more. Explore the sanctuary by sailing in the Periyar Lake. In the evening, enjoy a Kathakali show.
Day 5: Periyar to Alleppey
Transfer to Alleppey, known as the Venice of the East. Experience a stay on a Kerala Houseboat and admire the scenic sites of lush paddy fields and coconut trees as you sail.
Day 6: Alleppey to Varkala
Visit Jatayu Earth Centre, which stands at an altitude of 350m (1200ft) above sea level. Take a cable car ride to reach the main attraction, the Jatayu Sculpture. Continue to Varkala, a coastal town in the southern part of Kerala known for the unique Northern Cliff adjacent to the Arabian Sea.
Day 7: Varkala to Kanyakumari
Transfer to Kanyakumari, a coastal town on India’s southern tip. Upon arrival, witness the spectacular sunset at Kanyakumari.
Day 8: Kanyakumari to Thiruvananthapuram
Visit Gandhi Mandapam, a memorial building with sea views on site where Gandhi’s ashes were held after his death. Later, enjoy a ferry ride to Swami Vivekananda Rock Memorial, built in 1970 in honor of Swami Vivekananda.
Continue to the meditation hall and the smarak, Kanyakumari Mandir, one of the 52 Shakti Peethams, and Tri Samudra Milan (Triveni Sangam). Later, proceed to Thiruvananthapuram, popularly known for its riveting natural beauty and stunning architectural marvels.
