On this tour the guests will have a chance to dig into the mysteries of Delhi as this part of the city in particular is popularly known as the City of Djinns. Feroz Shah Kotla Fort, one of Delhi's oldest monuments, was completed in 1354 by Sultan Feroz Shah Tughlaq. This fort was created when the emperor chose to relocate his capital from Tughlaqabad to Firozabad owing to a lack of water in the old capital, according to historical records. As a result, the fort was constructed on the banks of the sacred Yamuna river to suit the function. In its complex, the fort features some gorgeous gardens, mosques, buildings, and so on. The fort's entrance is marked by a massive iron gate with the ruler's name, and the fort's walls reach heights of 15 metres. Though much of the fort's buildings are in ruins, the stepwell (baoli) is still in fine shape. One of the fort's most remarkable aspects is the presence of an Ashokan Pillar, which Feroz Shah transported from Ambala to Delhi. The walk will begin from the main entrance of the Feroz Shah Kotla Fort where one can see the Palace gate and walk through the scattered ruins and an Arched Gateway. We also have a Baoli or stepwell here followed by one of the historic landmarks from the ancient India, the Ashokan pillar. Finally, we will visit the Mosque and Chambers of Djinns where the locals still perform certain rituals and write letters to these mysterious forces of the Islamic world.
