Northern Lights tour 9:30 PM

Escape the light pollution of the city and go with us outside Akureyri to see the amazing Northern lights. The Northern Lights viewings for this winter are looking very promising and there are few better places to see them than in the north of Iceland.
Where we head each night depends on where we think it's most likely to find clear sky and the best conditions to enjoy the lights.

The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon. Sightings cannot be guaranteed even if the tour is operated. The Northern Lights tour is subject to the weather and sky conditions. If the evening tour goes ahead and the Northern Lights are not seen, we will offer the trip again for free. Therefore, we advise you to book your Northern Lights tour on your first night in Akureyri, so there can be an option to change dates if the lights are not seen or the tour is not operated.

Lake Mývatn, Goðafoss and Nature Baths tour 9 AM

First, we drive along the coast of Eyjafjörður, one of the longest fjords in Iceland. We begin by stopping at Goðafoss waterfall, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland, on our way to Lake Mývatn, the lake was created by a large basaltic lava eruption 2300 years ago, and the surrounding landscape is dominated by volcanic landforms, including lava pillars and rootless vents.

We take a look at Grjótagjá cave and a stop at the hot spring area at Hverarönd in Námaskarð. If you choose the option, relax and unwind with a soothing soak in the geothermal waters of the Mývatn Nature Baths—an unforgettable way to experience Iceland’s volcanic beauty.

On the way back we come to the unique lava formations of Dimmuborgir which are among the most popular tourist attractions in the Lake Mývatn area. We stop also in Skútustaðagígar (pseudocraters area).

Our last stop is in Eyjafjörður where you can see over the fjord to Akureyri and take a great photo. You can't go wrong with this moderately priced and well organized small group tour.

On the day of your departure, we will take you back to the Akureyri Airport.
