On this Glacier Lagoon day tour, you'll go for a drive along the South coast of Iceland heading to Europe's largest glacier: Vatnajökull. Vatnajökull is the largest ice cap in Iceland.
In total Vatnajökull covers 8,100 km2 (3,100 square miles) which is about the size of Delaware!
As you arrive to Vatnajökull National Park you'll start to feel the true force of nature, which becomes apparent when you reach the large glacial lake Jökulsárlón on the south-east corner of Vatnajökull National Park. The lagoon developed after the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier started receding around the 1930s. The lagoon has grown since then at varying rates because of the melting of the glaciers.
You will also explore other wonders of the Vatnajökull National Park; including the Diamond Beach, Fjallsárjökull and Skaftafell National Park. Don't miss an opportunity to witness the true force of nature.
