Day 2: White Glaciers & Black Sands
Enjoy a scenic drive along the black volcanic sands, tracing the southern expanse of the majestic Vatnajökull Glacier, culminating at the breathtaking Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon.
Located nearby, visit the Diamond Beach, renowned for its stunning black sand covered with sparkling icebergs that have washed ashore. These icebergs, originating from the glacier lagoon, create a breathtaking contrast against the dark volcanic sand.
On the way back to our hotel, we visit Skaftafell, part of Vatnajökull National Park. Skaftafell is a nature lover’s paradise known for its stunning landscapes. It features a diverse array of natural wonders, including glaciers, waterfalls, and lush vegetation.
Day 3: Volcanos and Waterfalls and the Blue Lagoon
On this day, we will enjoy a ride back along the south coast of Iceland. This coastal road offers views of glacier tongues, waterfalls, rugged hills, black sand beaches, and its famous volcanoes. We visit the black sand beach at Reynisfjara to view the geological formation and the smashing waves.
Next, stop and admire the majestic Skógafoss Waterfall before driving to Seljalandsfoss Waterfall. Here you can walk behind the waterfall. We then visit the Lava Centre, an interactive, high-tech educational exhibition depicting volcano activity, earthquakes, and the creation of Iceland.
