From Reykjavik: Kerlingarfjöll Hiking Day Tour

Join an epic 8-kilometer trek in the stunning Kerlingarfjöll mountains in Iceland! See geothermal valleys, snowy fields, hot springs, mountain peaks, and glacial rivers in the Icelandic highlands.
Our day-long trip begins with a morning pick-up in Reykjavik at 8 a.m.

Next on the agenda is the remote volcanic Kerlingarfjöll mountain range, deep in the Icelandic Highlands. Prepare for the stunning views of geothermal valleys, glacial rivers, and the rising steam that makes for picture-perfect scenery!

We arrive at the Highland Base in the scenic Ásgarður Valley, the gateway to Kerlingarfjöll. Here, we get ready for our hike.

After that, we'll head to Hveradalir, or 'the Valley of Hot Springs.’ You’ll walk into one of Iceland's biggest areas with natural (and powerful) hot springs. This place is also surrounded by beautiful rhyolite mountains, which are a part of the Kerlingarfjöll mountain range. From there, we'll continue our journey for another 2 km (1.2 mi).

Next, we’ll get a ride to Snækollur, the highest peak in the Kerlingarfjöll mountains. From there, we will hike for another 6 km (3.7 mi) through rhyolite summits draped in snow.

The day's hike totals 8 km (4.9 mi) with a 500 m (1640 ft) elevation. Now, we leave the wild Kerlingarfjöll mountains and head back to the city life of Reykjavik.

This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
