Enjoy a Northern Lights experience including a brief introduction to the Aurora Borealis at an educational exhibition in Hafnarfjörður. Sit in a heated lounge while you wait for the celestial show.
When the conditions are right you will be able to experience the breathtaking beauty of the Northern Lights at Aurora Basecamp, located just 30 minutes drive from Reykjavik. Please note transfer is not included. When and if the time comes, and the Northern Lights light up the night sky, head out to witness the Aurora Borealis in all its glory.
Upon arrival, meet your guide at the entrance of the dome and enjoy a welcome hot chocolate to warm up. Then, wander through a small exhibition together with your guide and learn all there is to know about the Northern Lights and how to spot them.
As you wait for the magic to happen, wander in and out of the heated lounge, or have a seat outside by the fire pits. Feel free to ask your guide any questions you may have or for help getting the perfect photograph.

Aurora Borealis is a natural phenomenon that can not be controlled or promised by anyone. The conditions needed to be able to see the lights are darkness and a partly or fully clear sky.
Look for the sign Aurora Basecamp located on the side of Leidarendavegur Road (formerly known as Blafjallavegur road.)
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
