Private Tour Montserrat and Poblet Monasteries

Departure from Barcelona at the scheduled time, from your hotel, to the region of Montserrat, a journey of approximately one hour.

Upon arrival, we will explore the Monastery of Montserrat, a historical treasure of more than a thousand years, located in the mountains of Catalonia. Founded in the 11th century, this site houses the Virgin of Montserrat, "La Moreneta", and offers exceptional panoramic views from its 720 meters above sea level.

We will visit the monastery's Basilica, noted for its 12-meter-high organ and more than 4,200 pipes, combining Gothic, Renaissance and Catalan architectural elements. Then, we will explore the Museum of Montserrat, with works by El Greco, Miró, Dalí, Tápies, Picasso and other masters, as well as an archaeological collection with pieces from Egypt and Mesopotamia.

Let's stop for lunch because then we will go to the Monastery of Poblet, a journey of about an hour and a half. Optionally we can add a wine tasting in a winery with Denomination Penedes, with a tasting and brunch included.

The Monastery of Poblet, a Cistercian abbey declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, has almost 1,000 years of history. It is one of the largest and most complete architectural ensembles in the world, with a 12th-century church attached to a fortified royal residence. A community of 140 monks still resides in the monastery.

During our visit, we will explore the impressive architectural ensemble, including the dining room, the library with 13th century ribbed ceilings, the chapter house, the former kitchen and the dormitory room. This experience will allow us to immerse ourselves in the rich history and spirituality of Poblet before returning to Barcelona.

Finally we will return to Barcelona.
