Opened in 1963, Los Tarantos is one of the most respected tablao (venues for flamenco) in Barcelona. It helped the city become Spain's third great capital of flamenco after Andalusia and Madrid. When devising each program, the management of Los Tarantos consider the academic rigor of each group of performers and their capacity to adapt to characteristic flamenco art.
Performances are held nightly. No concessions are made to tourist audiences in the form of amateur or low-quality artists. However, nor is the show aimed exclusively at scholars of flamenco. Anyone who appreciates this breathtaking genre will enjoy the romance of the guitar and feel the passion of the singing and dancing.
