Description

Enjoy an excursion to Argolis & Corinth, with a visit to wine, olive oil and cheese production sites. Admire the olive groves & vineyards. Visit the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus & the Corinth Canal.
On this excursion we will start early in the morning and will tour for about 2 hours on a scenic route by the sea, until we reach our first destination, a traditional cheese factory in Ancient Epidaurus. You will learn about the production process of traditional Greek cheeses, while you will experience the first tasting of the day with various types of cheeses, produced in the Peloponnese region.

Following our visit to the cheese factory, we will drive for about half an hour until our next stop, an olive mill. You will watch a video about the production of olive oil (since it is produced in wintertime) and you will also enjoy visiting a traditional and organic olive grove. Do not miss the opportunity to do an olive oil tasting and at the same time try a traditional rural snack with olive oil, bread, tomato, cucumber and the classic Greek pies, spinach pie or cheese pie.

Having already tried several of the Peloponnese products, our next stop will be at the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus with its great acoustics and aesthetics, where theatrical performances still take place during the summer. Feel the magic of knowing that Ancient Greeks attended the great tragedies of Sophocles and Aeschylus there. Epidaurus Ancient Theatre was built in honor of Asclepios, the God of Medicine and you will have the chance to visit the Asclepion, the place that was the first health center of the ancient world, which is in the Ancient Theatre's area. We will stay in the site for about an hour.

After this walk to the Archaeological site of Ancient Epidaurus, we will head to Nemea, the most famous wine producing region in Greece. Nemea is famous for its great wineries, and they produce - among other things - the traditional Nemea P.D.O. wine. We will visit the most popular winery in Nemea. During the visit to the winery, you will have the opportunity to do wine tasting and enjoy a snack of traditional products.

It will be time to return to Athens. On our way back, we will make a short stop at the Corinth Canal. The Canal was completed in 1883 and was a miracle of engineering for its time. You will admire the sunset from the Canal and finally, after a full day and a tour that will have lasted for more than 12 hours, we will take the road back, full of experiences and aromas of Greek nature.
