Continue to Elmina Castle built by the Portuguese in 1482 as the first trading post built in the Gulf of Guinea and later became one of the most important stops on the route of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.
Tour the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Cape Coast Castle, one of the large commercial forts built on the Gold Coast of West Africa by European traders famously known for the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade. Diaspora Africans may ask for a "Door of Return" rituals at an extra fee.
